Miguel Ponce alias PuertoBoricua born in Puerto Rico in 1960 in a small town at the north-east of the Island Canovanas.Growing between the hills and the surroundings towns,like Loiza a north-east coast town wich is known to be a "black slaves community at the Spanish conquer era".By the time PB was growing,there where several experiences that influence the work of the artist,including the sugar cane company nearby La Central a rural community of Canovanas.This company use a rairoad that travel to export the sugar cane crops to several towns on the north,including Rio Grande,Luquillo and Fajardo."Don,t try to cross to the railroad,is very dangerous",argued PuertoBoricu,s mother.The smoke in the morning of the sugar cane pipe spread over the town."Close the windows the smoke is comming" said some neighbors to protect their homes.All this are on the artist surroundings wich make the artist grow with strong values and love for his town,where he born.
